Eleven years in commercial controls, applied to houses
Rachel Okonkwo spent eleven years as a commercial controls technician before she bought her first van — hospitals, data floors, a resort chain’s chiller plants. Controls work is diagnostic work: you arrive at a building that is misbehaving, the readouts all claim innocence, and the fault is hiding in the interaction between systems. You learn to trust measurements over symptoms, to log before you guess, and to leave every panel labelled better than you found it.
That background is why Solstice diagnoses the way it does. A residential AC has one-tenth the complexity of a chiller plant, and it gets one-tenth the diagnostic respect from most of the trade — parts swapped on hunches, refrigerant added to systems nobody leak-tested, compressors condemned by whoever profits from the condemnation. Rachel trained our techs to bring the commercial habit down to the house: measure, log, prove it, then fix it once.
She still takes the hardest tickets herself. Ask about the intermittent lockout on South Mountain that three visits could not catch — she caught it with a data logger and a week of patience, and the fix was one over-tightened clamp.

Fourteen trucks, forty-one people
Six of them you might meet, because their names are on the city pages they drive. Every tech is NATE-certified, and the shop holds Trane Comfort Specialist and Carrier Factory Authorized standing — we carry Trane, Carrier and Rheem, and we will install a Bosch inverter heat pump if you ask for one.
